Demolishing the Spiritual Stronghold of Racism in the American Church: Secret Key to Worldwide "Last Days" Harvest
Published in Hardcover by Dorrance Publishing Co (January, 2002)
Author: Rachelle Hood-Phillips
Average review score:

With Biblical, historical and statistical facts
The author here argues in Demolishing The Spiritual Stronghold Of Racism In The American Church that God is calling the present generation of American Christians to reconcile their racial differences so he can complete his plan for this age. Racial divisions are the biggest factors restricting God's spirit from sending a world revival, the author maintains. Biblical, historical and statistical facts back up her assertions.

Denial and Discovery: Behind the Scenes of Psychosexual Assessments
Published in Paperback by Trafford (January, 2003)
Authors: Keith E. Anderson and Phillip M. Smith
Average review score:

Great presentation of tools!
This book provides great case examples of the author's assessment of people who display sexually deviant behavior! The core content sections following each chapter provide very useful tools and examples of styles of questionning during assessments as well as for use in case practice for professionals. Once I started reading this book I found the information so compelling that I only put it down to go to sleep! I finished it the next morning. This is a very useful book for anyone working with families and children! I strongly recommend this book for resource information as well as practical tools!

Dictators and Tyrants: Absolute Rulers and Would-Be Rulers in World History
Published in Hardcover by Facts on File, Inc. (January, 1995)
Authors: Alan Axelrod and Charles Phillips
Average review score:

Ready to take over the world?
What do Herod Antipus, Kublai Kahn, Idi Amin, Lenin, Henry VIII, Nero and Ramses II The Great all have in common? First they are all despots and second along with about 600 others they are in this book.

In just over 330 page you'll be treated to the amassed amount of 600 plus despots, tyrants and would be tyrants trying to take over. The authors have listed each name and a brief description of the person.

While the book is made for quick reference, I was engrossed in the book for over two hours. The facts and photos included are excellent and you might be surprised to find out who is in the book.

You'll read about Cyrus the Great, Peter the Great, Napoleon, Hitler and so many, many more. For a great gift for those in school or for the additional reference material for the term paper this is a great place to start.

Discovering China
Published in Hardcover by Helen Dow Whiting (01 January, 1999)
Authors: Helen Dow Whiting and E. B. Phillips
Average review score:

China: A Very Personal Visit
This book is a beautifully crafted treasure, designed with thick creamy paper, and lots of colorful photos. The author and her husband, seasoned international travellers, carefully chose to visit cities that tell the full story of China's past and present. Instead of being herded onto tour buses, looking at the same familiar spots, they traveled with personal guides, changing at each stop, who led them into situations most visitors would never see: Chinese homes, workplaces, markets, nursery schools and gardens. The people they met and enjoyed become as much a part of the story as the sights. Each chapter begins with a beautiful city map, and the numerous full color photographs are inserted in the story they help to tell. Visiting Vinegar Joe Stilwell's headquarters, adventuring gamely in a small boat on a wild river trip, deciphering menu oddities and train etiquette, watching silk cloth being made, trying to buy a raincoat in a "department store," or retracing the Silk Road, the Whitings are not only good ambassadors, but curious and caring travel companions. Indented into the text are carefully researched historical tidbits, full of facts and background that supplement the story. If you're planning a trip to China yourself or want a vicarious vacation, order a copy of this book!

Discovering Truth : Keys to Happier Living
Published in Hardcover by Aurora Production, Ltd (01 August, 1999)
Authors: John Lee and Keith Phillips
Average review score:

Highly useful specialized topical Bible
Separated into fifty-four categories, "Keys to Happier Living" is basically a topical Bible based on the Authorized King James Version of the Bible. But instead of a large, cumbersome comprehensive Topical Bible such as Naves, the author has compiled those topics related to Happier Living into a much smaller and manageable volume.

For people who are not familiar with a topical Bible, a topic is given (such as anger, beauty, critcism, or friendship) and verses related to that topic are all placed together underneath it. As a result you end up with a collection of verses related to the topic. I have Naves and a couple of other topical Bibles, but I really appreciate the way that this book contains only verses related to creating a happy life. Well designed and easy to use, it is a book of encouragement and Bible study that anyone can use. I highly recommend it for anyone seeking Biblical based knowledge and study on happiness, relationships, and personal problems as well as personal growth.

Once you read this book, even if you read it a thousand times, it will still surprise you This book takes me out of this world. I learned a lot from this book, like did you know what Neil Armstrong described the moon as? So if you like space and are interested in history, I recommend this book to you!
